If you’re an avid RV camper, then you might already know that once the ball drops and New Year’s festivities come to an end, planning for the upcoming camping season is in order. Sure it’s only the end of December, but in order to get the most out of your spring RV getaways, we definitely recommend getting yourself sorted now. From de-winterization services to planning your route to even booking campgrounds, the folks here at O’Connor RV are here to help you prepare for the 2023 RV camping season!

Break Out the Rig

Before getting ready for the upcoming RV camping season, the first thing you’ll want to do is break out the rig from its hiding place and get a sense of what you’re working with – a lot can happen in six months, after all! See if there’s anything you’d like to upgrade or if any repairs need to be made. At the very least, you’re RV is likely begging to be aired out and given a good dusting/cleaning.

Pre-Book RV De-Winterizing

If you have a travel trailer, tent trailer, fifth wheel, motorhome or even a truck camper, chances are you have a water system attached that you winterized for the off-season. Getting your RV de-winterized is critical to ensure it reliably gets you where you need to. Routine maintenance inspections are a good idea too!  From anti-freeze removal and bearing inspections to crack filling and sealing, O’Connor RV will give you peace of mind knowing your RV is safe for use all season long.

Plan Your Route/Book Campgrounds

While you don’t always need to plan your RV adventure to a T (a little spontaneity never hurt anyone), its important to book the campgrounds you’re hoping to stay at well in advance. Reservations open in January for Parks Canada sites, and private campgrounds are already booking up fast, some are already booking into the next year! Have an idea of where you plan to go this year and book yourself a spot just to be safe!

Book Your Towing Vehicle

If you plan on getting the most out of your RV adventures all summer long and don’t want to deal with the hassle of towing your travel trailer back and forth each time, you can always have it towed back to your preferred seasonal campground instead where it’ll stay for the entire summer. It’s important, however, to book the towing service well in advance.

Get Ready to Camp!

The fun part begins! Once all of your safety and functionality tasks have been completed, you’re ready to fill your RV up with decor, snacks, and your loved ones!
