If you’re a seasoned RV camping vet, you’re likely always on the lookout for the next must-have item that can help optimize your camping adventures. Whether it’s a high-tech gadget for living life off the grid, a cozy item that keeps you warm during the cold nights, or a handy item to help maintain or preserve your RV on the road, here at O’Connor, we’ve got you covered on the latest and greatest! Let’s explore the top ten must-have items for your RV camper or trailer.

1.    RV Wheel Chocks and Levellers

When setting up your camping trailer, make sure it’s on a level lot or ground. When your camper is level, it will have a much more stable, comfortable feel.  These RV wheel chocks are great for securing your camper in place, preventing the wheels from rolling, especially if you’re parked on uneven ground. Additionally, these Lynx Levelers are great for raising any side of your trailer to level it out perfectly. They’re super lightweight and easy to bring along. Use a magnetic level measuring tool for complete accuracy.

2.    Pressure Regulator Valve

To lower the pressure of city water, a regulator valve will keep your pipes from bursting by limiting the pressure from the freshwater hose. This will keep your mind at ease when your fresh water is connected to your camping trailer.

3.    Hose Splitter

If you’re camping beside friends and family who have their own camper, and there is only one water hookup, a hose splitter will come in handy and can allow for multiple connections.

4.    Gas Powered Generator

This 4000-Watt RV Ready DH Series by Champion is lighter and quieter than your average generator and provides up to 17 hours of run time, powering up your whole RV camping trailer. All you’ll need is gas to power it up, and it’s ready to go.

5.    Grey Water Odour Control

After flushing your grey water tank, pour some odour control into your sink or any drain leading to your grey water tank to keep it smelling fresh. Additionally, you can try these tank deodorizers for your toilet after flushing out your black water tank. This will keep odours from coming back out into your camper as well.

6.    RV Awning Screen and Pop-Up Shelter

Provide UV protection for your family when hanging out outside with an awning screen. Simply make sure you order the correct length measurement for your awning. You can also protect against the sun while keeping the bugs out with a screened pop-up shelter. Kids will love to hang out inside of it, cool down in the shaded area, or to shelter on a rainy day. It’s large enough to set up a picnic table inside.

7.    Pop-Up Trash Can

This is ideal for any camping situation. A pop-up trash can is easy to store, lightweight, easy to clean, and makes cleaning up your area more convenient. The handles allow you to carry your garbage to wherever need be to dump, and having it outside of your camper helps to keep the inside of your trailer clean and tidy.

8.    Portable Propane BBQ

This Weber Q1200 portable BBQ is a game changer, especially with BC’s current open fire pit restrictions. It has enough surface area to feed a family of four. You can purchase the compatible foldable stand or place yours on a foldable table when camping.

9.    Marshmellow Roasting Sticks

Whether you’re using a BBQ or someplace where open flames are permitted, these marshmallow roasting sticks can pretty much be used for cooking anything! Cook sausages, hot dogs, corn, steak, etc. The kids will love to cook with their own coloured stick and stand back safely as their stick extends far enough out.

10. Yeti Tundra Cooler

Although on the pricier side, there are numerous reasons why you should invest in a YETI Tundra Cooler for you and your family. These coolers are durable, heavy-duty, weather resistant and bear-resistant. It offers extended ice retention with superior insulation compared to others on the market, and the thing is virtually indestructible. Great for keeping your food and drinks safe outside of your camper or for any outdoor adventure.
